Dot Art provides a safe, fun, and welcoming space for children ages 4-10 to explore new possibilities in art. Our experienced teachers, artists, and volunteers inspire children to experiment with familiar and new materials, as well as help to establish and foster a love for creating.

Lead Art Teacher, Vacation and Summer Programming
Reports to: Board of Directors
We are looking for a creative, flexible art teacher to join our team. The Lead Art Teacher's responsibilities include sourcing art supplies, preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques.
The Lead Art Teacher’s lessons and projects encourage creativity and self-expression and will be attentive and responsive to themes in students' art. The person in this role ensures that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner.
This position is full during vacation weeks.
Responsibilities
Lead all Dot Art programming including Saturday Studios, holiday sessions and school vacation weeks.
Plan and deliver instruction to students on art, art techniques, art history, art theory, and aesthetics
Discuss various artistic approaches and traditions and encourage students to express themselves artistically
Facilitate discussions where students have an opportunity to talk about their own artwork and their peers’ artwork in a constructive and thoughtful manner.
Purchase art materials and maintain the inventory of art materials
Prep and clean up before and after sessions
Maintain studio in organized and clean manner
Supervise and provide mentorship to teachers and assistant teachers
Communicate with parents
Assist director in hiring process
Complete a CORI as needed
