In this two-day intensive session, students learn techniques and explore different styles. We focus on learning to observe what we are drawing through a variety of exercises while we examine the drawings of artists from prehistoric times through today. We will visit the Harvard Art Museum (taking the T) on Day 1.

Students will explore with different media types including:

  • Pencil

  • Charcoal

  • Ink

Students will be drawing from life and considering how line, shape, gesture, perspective, and composition influence the work. This intensive also explores the difference between abstraction and realism in an age-appropriate way through the drawings we study.
